I hope this helps anyone else that has seen this advance feature problem with a digital timing light. I have found the advance feature on the timing light to be very helpful. However, whenever I plan to do timing work on the TR3/4 I will temporarily pull the Magnecore wire #1 off my TR250 and put it in the #1 position of my TR3/4. Based on my discussion with Magnecore, I decided that for now I will stay with my Cobalt spark plugs wires since the car runs good with them. He explained the material and structure of the Magnecore KV85 but said he did not know the material and structure of the Cobalt wire. Features Patented Skip Circuitry Test up to 9,990 RPM and switches from 2-cycle to 4-cycle. Advance Control Knob Selects timing light advance setting from 0°to 60°. I talked to Magnecore about this and he was not surprised at the results. The four-function digital readout includes tachometer ranges from 249-9,990 RPM, Advance Degrees (2 and 4 cycle) 0-90 degrees, dwell (2-12 cylinders) from 0-180 degrees and voltage from 10-16 volts DC. Sure enough the timing light advance feature works on the TR3/4 using the Magnecore KV85 spark plug wire. We finally realized that as a test we should put the #1 plug wire from the TR250 (Magnecore KV85 brand) in place of the #1 wire on the TR3/4 (Cobalt brand). This timing light works with most ignition systems. Features Patented Skip Circuitry Test up to 9,990 RPM and switches from 2-cycle to 4-cycle. Feb 10 30th January - 31st January 2024įinally figured out the difference of why my Innova 5568a timing light advance feature works on my 6 cylinder TR250 but not on my 4 cylinder TR3/4. The four-function digital readout includes tachometer ranges from 249-9,990 RPM, Advance Degrees (2 and 4 cycle) 0-90 degrees, dwell (2-12 cylinders) from 0-180 degrees and voltage from 10-16 volts DC.
